Writers' Statement
Zac Catone / Gabriel Dominguez
We believe our close friendship has always provided us with a unique perspective as writers and actors. As writers, it is our privilege to tell the stories of the flawed characters we are so drawn to explore as actors. The countless conversations and endless nights we spent together as friends inspired the ideas explored in this film long before we ever picked up a pen. It was not our goal to raise questions nor provide answers to these ideas, but instead to create characters who must discover their own truths. We believe that they, like love and everything else, are victims of circumstance. "The Way That I Am With You" is more than a title; it is a notion that some people can’t help but feel the way that they feel about each other, for better or worse. This project was one of sincere personal expression and we hope that it strikes a strong note for all that watch it.
